Hi! My name is Leesa and I have 3 kidneys. Two of them don't work and one of the kidneys is from my mother.
My family has history of kidney failure. My father passed away with a kidney failure when I was young, he was in his 30s.
For some reason, I never thought that my kidneys would have a problem. Maybe because I was ignorant, or maybe because I was young, but it just wasn't something I thought about. Until I finished college.

Welcome to the new website! This gives me an opportunity to tell you all that I made the decision to take out my unused fistula. I was very fortunate to have never used it; going directly from CKD to a transplant! My transplanted kidney was working so well, I decided to have it taken out.
